Positive Focus Vs Negative Focus
Posted by Jason Kendall | Filed under Personal Development
Look in any bookshop at their Best Seller list today, and you’ll see a mass of autobiographies of the rich and famous. From empire builders to glamour models to footballers, they all tell a different story, but each has a thread in common – they focused on the positives and overcame adversity.
That’s the way of the world; life’s achievers allow positive reasons why ‘they can’ to flood their consciousness, and drown out negative reasons why they can’t.
For the trainee, this attitude to studying is vital. To complete a training program successfully, the biggest tool in a student’s workbox is a positive mindset. An optimistic outlook brings about all sorts of circumstances, possibilities, answers and opportunities to achieve. On the other hand, a negative outlook blocks creativity and numbs our learning receptors.
This is due to our Reticular Activation System, which is a mechanism in our brain that automatically tells us what to focus on. We’ve experienced many things throughout our lives that no longer stay in the forefront of our minds – most of what we’ve learned moves from our conscious mind to our sub-conscious mind, a sort of store cupboard stocked up with all our past knowledge and beliefs.
When we attempt consciously to do something, our RAS (Reticular Activation System) will search for any relevant information in the sub-conscious mind, and bring it to our attention. If we’re taking a walk down a street, only the things that have meaning to us will be noticed – the rest is just background noise.
This means that if our conscious mind has been regularly sending messages that are upbeat and positive to our sub-conscious mind, then that’s what it will transfer back. But if our sub-conscious has been given loads of downbeat and defeatist messages, then that’s equally what will be sent back.
Achievers, it appears, are able to manipulate the messages streamimg through to their sub-conscious minds. They do this by choosing the exact messages the conscious mind sends and deliberately programming their RAS. As such, it’s an essential tool for achieving goals, as the sub-conscious mind can’t tell the difference between real or imaginary events.
In other words, as it believes what it’s told, we need to create a very specific picture of our goal in our conscious mind. The RAS will then pass this on to our subconscious – which will then help us achieve the goal. It does this by bringing to our attention all the relevant information which otherwise might have remained as ‘background noise’.
Napoleon Hill said that we can achieve any realistic goal if we keep on thinking of that goal, and stop thinking any negative thoughts about it. Of course, if we keep thinking that we can’t achieve a goal, our subconscious will help us not to achieve it.

Money and The Law of Attraction
Posted by admin | Filed under law of attraction
There are many articles, books, seminars, etc. that talk about attracting money with the Law of Attraction. The Law of Attraction states that you can have whatever you want in your life experience. It is apparent that money is needed by many now and with many people reading and learning the techniques to attract money. So much focus on money in regards to the Law of Attraction leads to one question. How many of these people are having success?
The reason I pose such a question is because it seems to be a very popular topic in regards to the Law of Attraction. With such popularity, could it be that people are focusing on the lack of money when they are dying to learn how to attract it.
The Law of Attraction is quite clear. Ask, Believe, and Allow it into your life experience. Does one need a special course to put the same practice into effect with money? There are many good programs and books out there that go into how to attract money, however there should not be an overwhelming need for them unless individuals are desperate for money.
A different approach with the Law of Attraction and Money would be to take note of what would you do if you had all the money you needed. Then what would you want? With so much focus on attracting money, are you ignoring thoughts in others areas of your life that you desire as well?
For example, are you ignoring your desire for good health? Are you so focused on attracting money that you stress and forget to remember that you want health as well? Without health you could not enjoy the money you want to attract anyway.
Taking stock of WHY you want the money and what it could do for you and then making those a dominant thought, should attract all that you want. Focusing on the next great product is not always necessary if you fully understand the Law of Attraction.
After saying this, I will also say that it is good to invest in your education and if truly find that you are not attracting all that you desire and come across something you FEEL will benefit you by all means purchase away.

Depression and The Law of Attraction
Posted by admin | Filed under law of attraction
Depression can be quite painful for those who experience it. Emotions can range from just feeling down in the dumps to wanting to die. It is difficult to live this way and for many when their mind is clogged with a cloud of sadness it is hard to do anything.
I have read a few articles on the Law of Attraction and Depression. Sadly enough many of them condemn the depressed and say that it is just something they have to work out. Many articles talk about different thoughts people should have to change their mindset. What these people may not realize is that when you are engulfed by a feeling of hopelessness it may not be that easy for some.
So what can a depressed person do in regards to the law of attraction to improve their mood and outlook? The answer may not be what typical therapist would recommend, but the answer is get angry.
The book “Ask and It is Given” by Esther and Jerry Hicks speaks of climbing the emotional scale. This emotional scale is a series of words to describe emotions individuals have. The words are interchangeable, for example if the scale says depressed as one of the words in can be interchanged with hopelessness.
Getting angry is a step up from depression. Trying to evoke an angry feeling is a good way to switch gears, it gets you out of the helplessness and into the anger mindset. Just like depression, anger is not considered a good emotion. However, for a depressed person it is a good emotion, even if it is only temporary.
One must not stay in the state of anger for to long, it is not good for them or others around them. After you have accomplished getting out of the depressed state and into the anger state you can climb the scale further to a yet better feeling emotion.
You continue to climb the scale and when you reach a slightly positive emotion, stay there and enjoy it. If you prefer, you can immediately climb the scale further and reach the next positive state of emotion.
With practice, you will be able to notice when your feelings are in the depressed state and recall the better feeling you had when you climbed to the state of anger. You will also be able to recall what state you wish to reach after anger.
With this recollection you will slowly be able to climb out of depression when ever it looms about.
