We have all been there trying to keep our thoughts on the positive path.  At times it can be very difficult.

If your not a reader like many get a few of the books and find excerpts that pick you up almost every time you read it.  Also, since most books are found in audio form, pop in your favorite and start listening.

Below are some great books to break your negative thoughts instantly:

The Law of Attraction – By Jerry and Esther Hicks

The Great Little Book of Afformations
– By Noah St. John – Noah actually has an entire website dedicated to self-improvement, you can find it here

Think and Grow Rich – By Napleon Hill – you can get it free here

As a Man Thinketh – James Allen -  you can get it free here

The Missing Secret – By Joe Vitale

Although a short list, they are a few of the most powerful books that can change your negative thoughts instantly.

An important key it to take note while you are reading, underline,  etc.  By doing this you have a reference at all times.

Additional tips include:

Making a poster or sign with excerpts that you read and hang it

Repeat the positive things you read from each book aloud- this will stregten your memory of them

Share with others what you have read- sharing has great power and makes you feel instantly helpful and positive

By reading books like these and doing these things daily or at least weekly your mind will begin to change.  The more you do it the easier it will become.

Reframing Your Thoughts

A great way to improve your thoughts and bring them into a positive light is through reframing. Reframing is a technique in Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) where an undesirable behavior or trait is conferred a positive intention.

A very brief explanation of NLP is any psychotherapy which uses a voice message that is intended to condition the conscious or unconscious mind.

Now, back to reframing. When you reframe a thought you change the words or meaning to create a different point of view.

You have established beliefs that have been constructed throughout your life. You were taught them by your parents, mentors, etc all I am sure with positive intent in mind. However, those beliefs today may no longer suit you or your desires for your life experience.

Individuals may find themselves stuck in the beliefs of the past, which make it difficult to change current behaviors or thoughts.

You can reframe your thoughts without the aid of a professional. However, as a hypnotist, even I need help reframing at times.

To reframe a thought, you should pay close attention to your conscious when making a decision. When you arrive to a conclusion, evaluate how you got there. Was it because you always have thought that way or that is the way the majority thinks? Or was it a thought that you would never have had it the past?

An example of a good reframe is a story that someone is telling you. As you are hearing that story you may come up with a number of different ways that you think it may end. In fact, you may be so anxious to get to the end you may try and complete the story with all the things you have imagined. When the story ends with a conclusion you never thought of, you have been reframed. The conclusion completely changed your preconceived notions to a new way of thinking.

From the example above, imagine all the different ways you could have come to a conclusion. Even if these conclusions don’t make sense to you now, imagination provides a good tool to reframe your thoughts.

If you use your imagination while making decision and come up with a positive choice you would not have made before, Congratulations you have just experienced a reframe. Now that you have a better idea of reframing your thoughts is, you can now use it with all decisions and see how positive the results may become.

Depression, Fatigue, and Positive Thoughts

Many times you may find it difficult at times to access the positive feeling thoughts that are needed to attract the things that you want in your life. Your thoughts have a very powerful attachment to the way your body feels as well as what occurs in your life.

There is a correlation between depression and fatigue and it seems that one fuels the other. When you are depressed you feel more drained and tired. When you are fatigued your mind is drained as well. With a tired mind and body it makes it even more difficult to generate positive thoughts. You do not believe that you are not depressed nor do you believe that you are not tired.

How do you reach for those better feeling thoughts of energy and happiness when you are stuck in that rut?

You must accept that in some way you did get yourself in that rut by your thoughts, accept, but not dwell. It is not necessary to go back and see which thought went wrong and when. If you do that, I can almost guarantee you will become more fatigued and more depressed.

While one way of feeling better is to reach for less restricting thoughts, such as “happiness is on its way” or “I will have energy soon.” A better way may to be directing those less restricting thoughts to both at the same time. “Happiness is on its way and I will have energy soon.”

A great correlation between depression and fatigue is lack of activity. In order to lessen resistance and find more positive thoughts, try directing your thoughts towards activity and exercise. By doing this, you dwell neither on the fact that you are unhappy nor on the fact that you are tired. You are directing your thoughts to something that will bring you more energy which in turn can bring you out of depression.
